San Antonio, TX — There was an accident along U.S. 281 in San Antonio this past Thursday (July 30, 2015) that left a passenger in a Chevy HHR with serious injuries. The police reported this as happened late Thursday night at the intersection of San Pedro Ave (U.S. 281’s access road) and Jones Maltsberger Drive.
So far, it appears that a Chevy HHR was sitting at a red light when a black pickup truck rear-ended it, apparently failing to brake for the red light.
A 34-year old person in the Chevy HHR was badly injured and taken to a hospital where they were last said to be in critical condition. The driver of the HHR, 63, and another passenger, 60, were not as badly injured, but still required treatment.
The police are treating this like a hit-and-run accident because the driver of the black truck allegedly sped away and got on U.S. 281 northbound after hitting the HHR. No word on whether they’ve been found yet.
