Edwards, MS — There was a serious wreck reported along I-20 early in the morning last Friday (July 17, 2015) that left a trucker with injuries. Police said that they think truck driver Cyle Garland, from Georgia, may have fallen asleep at the wheel of this 18-wheeler when he crashed.
According to the MHP reports, Garland had been driving his white semi-truck along I-20 at about 2:30 a.m. that Friday morning.
Near the small town of Edwards, Garland appeared to lose control of his truck and drift onto the shoulder, where he collided with a parked car.
The accident caused his truck to go into a ditch and flip onto the driver’s side.
The load Garland was carrying spilled all over the road and he was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-serious injuries. Police later said that they suspect he had fallen asleep at the wheel. Right now, it’s not clear if there was anyone in the car parked on the side of the road that morning.
