Port Barre, Louisiana — Two people were injured in a house fire that was caused by an 18-wheeler accident on Thursday, July 30, 2015.
A tire on a semi-truck blew out while it was driving along Highway 190, a news report said. This caused the truck’s driver to lose control and veer into the median. The truck ended up going through a fence where it continued toward a house nearby. The impact between the truck and the house sparked a large fire, engulfing the home in flames and sending smoke billowing into the sky.
The fiery crash injured a 5-year-old child and one other person. It’s not clear if they were taken to a local hospital or treated at the scene. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
The report doesn’t mention the truck driver’s condition. It’s not clear if he suffered any injuries.
