Midway, KY — The police in Midway and the highway patrol reported an accident on Monday morning, July 27, that left at least a few people with injuries. They said that a large 18-wheeler truck failed to brake in time for stopped traffic and crashed into several cars on I-64.
This happened near Midway, they said, at about 8:30 a.m. in the morning.
The police said that an 18-wheeler was headed east on the interstate that morning when the driver came upon stopped or slowed traffic, due to a construction zone up ahead.
The 18-wheeler’s driver didn’t see it in time, apparently, and failed to brake. He crashed into the back of an AT&T vehicle and a box truck, then hit several other cars.
The accident didn’t harm the trucker, but at least a few people in the other vehicles were treated for injuries. As of Wednesday, it appears that none of the injuries were very serious.
No names have been given and it’s not clear if the authorities are going cite the 18-wheeler’s driver for not paying attention.
