Bryan, TX — Three people were hospitalized following a four-vehicle accident in Bryan, Texas, on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. The accident took place on Highway 21, near Coulter Airfield.
Local reports say that a mail truck was head east on the highway and attempted to make a U-turn. As it came into the westbound lanes of traffic, the truck ran into a pickup truck and an SUV. A truck also headed west swerved to avoid the accident, and rolled over.
In all, three people were injured in the crash. One person had to be extricated from their vehicle before being taken, along with the other two, to St. Joseph Hospital. Injuries suffered by the three were said to be non-life-threatening.
The names of those involved haven’t been released. Police cited the driver of the mail truck for making an unsafe lane change, however, they’re still investigating the accident.

The bottom line is, anyone driving a commercial vehicle is going to be held to a higher standard than other motorists on the road. The driver of the mail truck should have known better than to attempt to make a U-turn with so many other vehicles on the road. At the very least, I’d say that the driver has some tough questions to answer. Either he’s shown a huge disregard for the safety of others, or his employer isn’t setting high enough safety standards.
