FILLMORE, UT — State Police confirmed that Jessie Wilkerson was the teenager that was fatally injured in a car accident that happened in Fillmore, Utah on Thursday, July 9th, 2015. Sources out of Salt Lake City said that the accident took place around 7:00 in the morning.
Police think that 18-year-old Jessie Wilkerson was fatally injured when the catr she was in collided with another vehicle head-on while driving on Interstate 15. At this time, police are trying to determine the specific cause of the accident, or if one of the vehicles may have crossed into oncoming traffic.
Wilkerson was taken to a nearby hospital before she was transferred to a second medical center where she died.
Utah State Highway Patrol officials are investigating at this time.
