St. Charles, MO — Police have arrested a local man for the second time in the past 9 months for a fatal DUI accident. This past Saturday, June 4, 2015 a 44-year old man named Jason Julian was killed when his motorcycle was hit by Derrell Edward Dean Hall’s Jeep (pictured). The accident also critically injured Julian’s female passenger on the motorcycle. Police said that they responded to the scene and learned from Derrell Hall’s passenger (who was unnamed) that they had been drinking. Hall fled the scene on foot, but was arrested a short time later.

The police said that Hall had been driving his Jeep along Second Street near Lawrence Street last Saturday morning around 1:30 a.m. when he rolled a stop sign (allegedly) and crashed into Jason Julian’s motorcycle.

The accident dragged the motorcycle forward into a nearby parking lot and pinned the female passenger underneath it. She was taken to a hospital with critical injuries along with Jason Julian, but Julian later died.

After the accident, Hall allegedly took the license plate off his Jeep and fled the scene on foot. Police were able to catch him and determined that he was intoxicated. He now faces charges.

Back in October of 2014, Hall got into another alcohol-related wreck when he crashed his vehicle on Highway K. He was injured and his female passenger, 22-year old Kimberly Presnell, was killed. They had a child together, the news said.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
