Jacksonville, FL — An elderly woman from Hastings who was critically injured last Tuesday (June 23, 2015) when her Honda was rear-ended by a semi-truck has been identified. 83-year old Dorothy Quigley was taken to a hospital after the accident, which happened around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
This was in the northbound lanes of I-95, just north of Race Track Road.
The FHP said that Quigley was driving her Honda Accord along I-95 that day when she was rear-ended by a semi-truck driven by 36-year old Victor Torres. This caused Quigley’s much smaller Honda to lose control and flip upside down.
Paramedics were called to the scene and rushed Quigley to a hospital, where she was in critical condition as of the last update.
The truck driver, Victor Torres, to troopers that Quigley had lost control of her car before he hit her. He claimed that Quigley’s car swerved into a guardrail and bounced back into traffic when he hit the car.
This is going to be investigated some more.
