Bend, OR — Three people were taken to local hospitals in Bend after they were in a head-on car accident on Thursday night, June 18, 2015. Right now, police have identified Roy Wright, 42, Lauren Wright, 40, and Cody Oxford, 24, as the injured parties. They also think that alcohol was a possible factor in this accident.
It happened along Highway 20 in the Springfield area near Santiam Junction, the police report read.
Oxford was driving his Subaru west along Highway 20 that Thursday night around 7:00 p.m. when he lost control along a curve and veered into the oncoming lanes of traffic.
His car crashed head-on into Roy and Lauren’s eastbound Chevy Trailblazer, leaving all three injured. Lauren and Roy were both taken to a hospital in serious condition while Oxford was said to be in life-threatening condition.
Allegedly, Oxford was driving under the influence and has since been cited by the Oregon State Police. However, they didn’t elaborate on what happened or how intoxicated Oxford was.
