Bennington, NE — The authorities in Douglas County have confirmed that one person was injured this past Wednesday (July 1, 2015) after a car wreck along Highway 36. This is the area of Bennington and the accident happened around 1:35 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
The news said that at least one car was headed along Highway 36 when it was involved in a wreck near 163rd Street. The car ended up in a ditch on the side of the road, where one person inside was trapped in the wreckage.
An ambulance and other emergency workers had to be called to get the person out of their vehicle to they could be transferred to Nebraska Medical Center.
The cause of the accident (and whether it involved more than just one car) remains under investigation.
