The fact of the matter is, drivers have to be cognizant of conditions on the road, and adjust their driving accordingly. If roads are wet, they need to drive more slowly. If a passenger is injured because a driver wasn’t taking proper care out on the road, then the driver can be held responsible for those injuries. Drivers owe their passengers a certain duty of care out on the road, and obviously, unsafe driving breaches that duty. Just like a driver can be held liable for injuring another driver, they can be held liable for injuring their own passengers.
