Ellis County, KS — A man named Darnell Collins was identified by the KHP (Kansas Highway Patrol) after his car was in a wreck along I-70. The news said that this happened early Monday morning, June 22, at about 4:30 a.m., but they didn’t provide much detail from the police investigation.
They said that Collins had been driving his vehicle west along I-70 that morning and was headed toward Hays when he lost control about 3 miles from the city limits.
His vehicle swerved into the median and crashed into a barrier, which caused him to flip over multiple times. The car came to a stop in the median and paramedics were called over. They immediately took him to a hospital in Wichita and said that he was in critical condition as of later that day.
It’s not clear why Collins lost control that morning, but the police said they’d investigate some more. However, they haven’t released any updates as of this week.
