Zachary, LA — A driver was critically injured in an accident involving five vehicles in Zachary, Louisiana, on Friday, June 26, 2015. The accident took place on Plank Road at the intersection of Highway 64 around 12:30 in the afternoon.
Local reports say that a truck was traveling north on Plank and turned onto Highway 64 when it was clipped from behind by another vehicle. The collision sent the other vehicle into oncoming traffic, where it hit another truck and a fourth vehicle, which then hit a fifth vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle that clipped the truck sustained critical injuries and was taken to a local hospital. His name hasn’t been released.
Other drivers were also injured in the accident, however, the full extent of their injuries isn’t clear.
The accident is still being investigated.
