Injuries From Construction-Site Heavy Lifting Accidents

Were you injured doing heavy lifting on a Dallas construction site?

Injuries like this are all too common.  Should you seek to receive financial compensation for your injury, you need to consider all the facts.

Workers' compensation law (or workers comp) is complicated.  Workers' compensation insurance is designed to provide injured employees financial coverage if they are injured on the job site.  In return, injured employees typically cannot bring personal injury suits against their employers.  If the employer is a non-subscriber, someone who does not have workers' compensation, then the employer is vulnerable to personal injury suits.

Many construction companies don't have workers' comp insurance.  So why is it difficult to win personal injury suits against them?  Often this is because construction companies hire primarily contractors.  Contractors are not eligible to bring personal injury suits in the same way that employees are.  Construction companies think they can be immune to lawsuits and save the cost of workers comp at the same time by hiring contractors.

Construction companies also might try to trick you into accepting an inadequate settlement by pretending like they have workers' compensation and then offering you a small compensation with a 'take it or leave it' manner.  They are often trying to get you to settle your case before talking to Dallas construction law firms.

Don't let this happen to you.  If you've been involved in an dallas construction injury, contact a Dallas worker's compensation attorney to help you explore all your legal options, and make sure you get the compensation you deserve.

As a Texas attorney practicing for 20 years, I have litigated all manner of personal injury cases. I use this blog as a place to write opinion / editorial articles on a variety of topics that catch my interest and as a means of sharing news stories relevant to personal injury accidents. I think the overwhelming majority of people are unaware just how common these types of accidents are and I hope this blog raises awareness to rather serious public safety concerns. However, this blog is simply a means for me to share my opinions and I would recommend that anyone who is considering seeking legal counsel should contact their family attorney.
