Auburn Hills, MI — There was a wreck reported outside of Auburn Hills off I-75 this past Friday night, June 5, 2015 that left one man from Davison with very critical injuries. Police said that the man was badly injured after the SUV he was riding in crashed along Lapeer Road with another car.
This all happened at about 11:45 p.m. on Friday night, at the BP gas station at Lapeer & the access road to I-75.
A 21-year old woman from Burton was driving a black Chevy Trailblazer SUV along Lapeer Road when she began to head south in the northbound lanes.
She drove the wrong way down Lapeer for a period of time before trying to make a left turn into the BP gas station. As she did so, her SUV was hit by a car.
A 21-year old man from Davison was sitting in the back seat of the SUV and was very badly injured by the impact. He had to be taken to a hospital.
The Burton woman and another person in her SUV were both treated for very minor injuries only. After the police arrived to investigated, they said they thought alcohol was likely a factor on the part of the Burton woman — who has not been named. She has since been charged and arrested.
