Decorah, IA — There was an accident in rural Decorah last Saturday in which a local man accidentally cut his hand off with a power tool. The man was identified as 18-year old Kennedy Folkedahl, but it’s not clear exactly how the accident happened.
The police said that Folkedahl was working somewhere along Water Street near River Street when the accident happened.
Paramedics were sent to the scene and he was taken to two different hospitals via medical helicopter.
At the last update on Monday, he was in “fair” condition at a Rochester, MN hospital. The cause of the accident is expected to be investigated some more and it’s not clear if Folkedahl was on the job when it happened.
