New Philadelphia, OH — Last Friday afternoon, a local Dover man was accidentally hit and run over by a semi-truck in a New Philadelphia parking lot. Police ID’d the man as 64-year old Dennis Casady, saying that the accident took place at the Allstate Peterbilt off Stonecreek Road at about 1:30 p.m. last Friday, May 29, 2015.
Casady, who worked at Allstate Peterbilt, was apparently returning from a lunch break when he was accidentally hit by a semi-truck that was being brought in for service.
The driver, 52-year old Waterford resident Rick Guiler, told police that he was in the process of leaving the lot when he must have accidentally run over Casady, who was near the back of his semi.
The details as to what happened are still being investigated, but at least one sources speculated that Casady may have been taking a look at Guiler’s semi-truck, as Guiler had mentioned one of the door latches may need repairing.
