SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ — Authorities have not yet released the name of the teenager that was fatally injured in accident that police think may have been alcohol related in San Tan Valley, Arizona on Friday, May 22nd, 2015. News sources out of Phoenix said that the accident happened sometime Friday evening.
A 17-year-old boy was killed when the Chrysler van he was in was hit by a Vhevy Tahoe SUV while driving on the Hunt Parkway. Police said that the SUV hit the back of the van for reasons currently under investigation. The driver of the offending SUV fled the scene after the accident, but were later tracked down by authorities.
The 17-year-old boy was taken to a Phoenix hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Authorities arrested Megan and Boyd Palmer in connection with the crash. Boyd Palmer currently faces drunk driving related and hit-and-run charges.
Arizona State Police are still investigating the accident.
