UPDATE (6/2/2015): The man injured in this accident has been identified as 44-year-old Alfie Foster.
Roseville, MN — A man suffered severe burns and was hospitalized following a single-vehicle accident in Roseville, Minnesota, on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. The accident took place on Interstate 35W, around 2:30 in the afternoon.
Police have yet to release the name of the man hurt in the crash. He was driving a semi-truck south on the interstate when he lost control of the truck and crashed into a pole supporting an overhead sign.
Witnesses to the accident said that the driver was able to get out of the cab after the accident. He was attempting to get a fire extinguisher to put out a fire that erupted when the truck blew, engulfing him in flames.
A man working at a nearby car lot was able to pull the man to safety, and passersby waited with him until an ambulance arrived. He was taken to a nearby hospital.
What caused the accident is still unknown. Officials are currently investigating.
