Commentary
Often times a driver will cause an accident and receive little in the way of “punishment” from police officers. Also important is the fact that being found at-fault for an accident doesn’t mean that the responsible party is obligated to make things right with the person they’ve injured. In many cases, it’s up to the victims themselves to file a claim and see the process through themselves. There are plenty of people out there who, if they’re not help responsible, are more than happy to forget that accidents like this ever happen. Unfortunately, victims are put in the position of making sure that’s avoided.
