Newark, NJ — A man in a car was arrested after being connected with the serious NJ Transit bus accident earlier this month, Friday, May 1, 2015. Police said that a man in a car critically injured his own passenger and 7 others after he crashed into an NJ Transit bus on Central Avenue.
This was at about 2:00 a.m. that morning, where Central Ave and Eighth Street intersect.
The police said that the man in the car was driving very fast down Central Avenue when he lost control and swerved into an NJ Transit bus.
6 people aboard that bus had to be taken to a hospital for serious injuries, meanwhile the driver of the car was relatively unharmed. His passenger, however, another young man, was badly injured and had to be hospitalized as well. So far, it’s not clear what kind of charges this driver may be facing, since he allegedly tried to flee before the police got to the scene.
