Alton, NH — A woman was severely injured in a potential DUI accident in Alton, New Hampshire, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. The accident happened on Route 28, around 5:15 in the afternoon.
Police have identified 37-year-old Kristy Arthur as the woman injure in the accident. Arthur was a passenger inside a vehicle being driven by John-Luke Gauthier. Police say that Gauthier was possibly drunk at the time of the crash, and that they had evidence of potential use. Gauthier had given a blood sample and authorities were awaiting results.
The accident took place when Gauthier came into the oncoming lane of traffic and crashed head-on with another vehicle being driven by Renee Chouinard. Chouinard suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
At the time of reporting, Arthur had not regained consciousness following the accident, and police said that should she pass away, Gauthier could be charged with a homicide.
