Commentary:

The news seemed pretty clear on the fact that the school bus may have run the stop sign when it struck the bread truck. What does this mean? Well, given that the school bus is owned and operated by the Stuttgart School District, things are going to be a little more complicated, given the involvement of a government vehicle. Why? Because the government has done a great deal to protect themselves from accident claims with policies and rules that swat claims away before they even become an issue. Even when things are so black and white as a red-light running school bus, there are still hurdles and hoops to jump over and through. Above anything else, moving quickly on your feet is more than likely going to bear the best benefits for victims. Why? In a lot of areas claims against the government have dramatically shorter time limitations that dismantle claims before they have to actually be dealt with. It is by no means impossible to file a claim against the government, it just takes somebody fairly experienced to help navigate the roadblocks along the way.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
