Tallulah, AL — There was an accident reported on Friday, March 20, 2015 that involved a truck driver being hit by a police cruiser. This was north of Tallulah that morning around 12:30 a.m., and the truck driver, who later died, was identified as David Watford, 47, of Cottonwood.
The officer at the scene said that he had been called about an 18-wheeler that was driving along Highway 65 that night, but then pulled over and was abandoned. As the officer drove around the area to investigate, he accidentally hit David Watford, the truck driver, who was in the roadway.
The accident left him with fatal injuries and he died a short time later. The officer said that Watford was walking in the southbound lanes at the time. More details will be released later, hopefully.
