Staunton, VA — Earlier this week, a driver on I-81 was killed in the Staunton area after his car crashed into an 18-wheeler truck. Police have since identified the man as Charles Fueller, 42, but didn’t say where he was from.
The accident happened on Monday night, March 30, 2015 at about 11:30 p.m. Police said that Fueller was driving his car north along I-81, near mile marker 322 (possibly 222) when he lost control and veered into the oncoming lanes of traffic.
It was there that Fueller’s car was hit head-on by an oncoming 18-wheeler truck, which killed Fueller immediately. The trucker was slightly injured, but drove to the hospital himself. More details are expected to be released later and it’s not clear why Fueller lost control of his car that night.
