Detroit, MI — Earlier this month, three people were injured (two of them critically) after they were involved in an explosion at the National Fleet Services building in Detroit. The accident happened on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2015 at the National Fleet facility off Grinnell.
Police believe that a natural gas or propane tank at the facility was leaking and accidentally ignited, causing a major explosion. A hole was blasted through the side of the building and a small fire was started.
At least two people in the building had to be taken to a hospital with critical burns, while a third person was able to transport themselves. Right now, National Fleet hasn’t told us what might’ve caused the accident, but they are still investigating the alleged leak.
National Fleet Services is a company that vehicles and trucks to natural gas or propane from gasoline.
