Sterling Heights, MI — There was a major accident between a car and a semi-truck this past Saturday, March 21, that left two people in critical condition. According to the police, the injured were a 27-year old woman from Warren and a 30-year old man from Detroit who were in a small white car when it rear-ended a semi-truck on Mound Road.
This was at about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, police said, where Mound Road intersects with 14 Mile Road. According to their reports, a semi-truck was stopped at a red light on Mound Road when it turned green and the semi started to move forward.
At that moment, a white Nissan car came upon the semi-truck and failed to control its speed, hitting the back of it. The accident left the Warren woman and the Detroit man inside the Nissan with critical injuries and they had to be taken to a hospital. The semi-truck driver wasn’t harmed.
Update: The police issued a statement saying that they believe alcohol was a factor here. They have not released any names, though.
