DANIA BEACH, FL — One woman was hurt after a garbage truck accident that happened in Dania Beach, Florida on Friday, February 20th, 2015. News reports said that the accident happened at around 4:00 Friday afternoon.
One person was taken to the hospital after a car and a dump truck collided on Old Griffin Road. Witnesses said that the woman’s car may have driven out of her lane and into the path of the truck.
The woman was taken by EMS to Memorial Regional Hospital where she was last reported in critical condition.
The investigation is currently underway at this time.

Commentary:
If the victim in this accident did accidentally swerve into the path of the truck, it makes me wonder if the truck had no time to react, or if the truck had plenty of time to react, but simply failed to. If the accident happens to resemble the latter, then the garbage truck company may bear a portion of the liability in the accident, but again, it would depend on the overall timescale of the accident, and what could have been done in that time to avoid the accident.
