Hatton, MI — There was an accident reported along U.S. 127 in rural Clare County this past Tuesday morning that left a St. Helen man injured. Police said that Eric Eddington was injured when his SUV crashed into the back of a garbage truck.
According to the news reports, this happened around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, February 24, 2015. Mr. Eddington was driving his Chevy SUV north along U.S. 127 and was nearing Hatton Road when he crashed into the back of a garbage truck driven by Walter Coppens.
The accident left Eddington with injuries and he was hospitalized, but was believed to be in good condition. The garbage truck driver, Walter Coppens, was not harmed. As of Thursday, it wasn’t clear what caused the accident or what the garbage truck was doing when Eddington hit it.
