Houston, TX — Police reported a serious accident along the Sam Houston Parkway on Thursday (February 12, 2015) that left the driver injured. This happened near the intersection with Telephone Road, police said, and it looks like it happened on Thursday night.
The news reports said that the driver of a black car was headed west along the Sam Houston Parkway (the access road) when he came upon a slower-moving car. As the man tried to pass the car, he lost control on the roadway and started to fishtail.
His car skidded off the road and into a nearby wooden pole, which nearly bifurcated the car. The driver, identified only as a man, was thrown from the driver’s seat as a result.
Paramedics responded to the scene and took the man to hospital, where he was said to be in serious condition. It’s possible speed was a factor here, but hopefully the police investigation will reveal some answers.
