Valley Mills, TX — There was a serious rollover accident this past Sunday (February 8, 2015) that claimed the life of Clifton teenager, 15-year old Jacob Mata. Police said that three other teens were injured as well when Mata’s pickup truck blew a tire and lost control.
This happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, along Highway 6, just east of Valley Mills. Jacob Mata was driving south along Highway 6 that morning when the front-left wheel on his Dodge pickup truck experienced some problems that led him to lose control.
The truck then swerved off the highway and flipped over multiple times, then stopped in the southbound lanes. Jacob Mata was killed in the accident while his teen passenger, one girl and two boys, were all taken to a Waco hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Right now, it’s not clear why the truck lost control or whether there was something wrong with it that morning. Police also didn’t mention why Mata was driving while only 15 years old.
