MIDVALE, UT — One person was taken to the hospital after a pedestrian involved car accident that happened in Midvale, Utah on Tuesday, January 27th, 2015. The news said that the accident happened at about 8:05 Tuesday evening.
One person was taken to the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in the 900 block of East Fort Union Boulevard. News agencies said that the man was in a crosswalk when he was struck, but did not have the protection of the light.
The man was taken to Intermountain Medical Center where he was last reported in critical condition following the accident.
The investigation is currently ongoing.

The news said that the victim was struck in a crosswalk, but the victim did not have the protection of the light. First of all, are we sure? All it would take to verify this is having somebody stand at the light to see how the timing works. Secondly, even if the victim did not have the right-of-way in the road, that doesn’t entitle motorists to hit people if they can at all avoid it. This is one situation that could definitely benefit from a closer look.
