Commentary
New York law prohibits bars from selling to anyone obviously intoxicated. Is it possible that the woman responsible for this accident was drinking at a bar before the crash occurred? If so, she has to be held accountable. But the bar needs to be looked at as well. Unfortunately, these laws are often misunderstood and often completely ignored. People don’t seem to get that helping someone who’s already drunk to get even more drunk is only going to increase their chances of getting into an accident. If a bar makes that sort of mistake, they should be held responsible, right alongside the driver, because they both contributed to the accident happening.
