Los Alamitos, CA — At the end of December, there was a fatal car accident in the Los Alamitos area that claimed the life of a 25-year old woman. Police said that a 25-year old woman in Ford Mustang was killed at about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning (December 30, 2014) after a two-car accident on Katella Avenue.
According to the news reports, the accident happened near the intersection of Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard, just after midnight. A 28-year old man was driving the Mustang west along Katella when he suddenly lost control and swerved into the median, going over it and into the eastbound lanes.
Once in the eastbound lanes, the Mustang was T-boned by a van. The accident critically injured both the 25-year old woman inside the Mustang as well as the 28-year old driver. Both were taken to nearby hospitals, but the 25-year old woman later died. Police said they’re still investigating the Mustang’s driver and haven’t determined if any charges will be filed. The van’s driver was fortunately unharmed.
