FAIRFIELD, IA — Robert Bollinger was killed in a plane crash that happened in Fairfield, Iowa on Sunday, June 22nd, 2014. The news said that the plane crashed due to a mechanical problem.
Robert Bollinger was killed when the aircraft he was flying banked and crashed shortly after takeoff from Fairfield Municipal Airport. Officials said that the propeller of the plane may have failed in the moments before the crash.
Bollinger was killed in the crash.
The investigation into the accident is currently underway.

With this accident, a lot is going to weigh on information we don’t have, but we can still explore. Considering that news suggested that the propeller may have dislodged from the plane in the accident. If true, I could see this happening in one of two ways. Either the plane itself had a problem with the design or construction that caused the propeller to separate from the aircraft. If this is true, depending on the age of the plane and a few other factors, the plane builder could be liable for at least a portion of the accident.
