Falcon, CO — Early in the morning on New Year’s Day, there was a serious car accident in Falcon that left a woman with serious injuries and two men with moderate injuries. Police said that Lisa Lacey, 36, was badly injured after the car she was riding in crashed along Falcon Highway.
The wreck happened around 2:00 in the morning on Thursday, New Year’s Day. Lacey was riding in a car driven by 25-year old Michael Heger, along with another passenger, 29-year old Christopher Awbrey.
As Heger drove Rio Road that morning, headed south, he came to the intersection with Falcon Highway. Apparently failed to stop at the stop sign, Heger’s car went through the intersection and drove off the side of Falcon, where his car crashed into a trailer and a parked Honda minivan.
Neither of the things Heger hit were occupied at the time. The accident seriously injured Lacey and left both Heger and Awbrey with less serious wounds. Police later said that they think alcohol was a factor here, along with speeding.
The CSP are still investigating.
