Update [December 29, 2014]: The woman who died in this accident was identified as Lashawn Childs, 29, from Washington.
Fairmount Heights, MD — An unnamed woman passed away after a serious accident this week, police said, though not much information has been given. So far, it looks like a woman was killed on Thursday evening, December 18, 2014 after her car was in a rear-end accident with a tow truck.
This happened around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, along 61st Avenue. The woman was driving her car west along Sheriff Road when she apparently came upon a tow truck that was trying to make a left turn onto 61st Avenue.
The woman’s car wasn’t able to brake in time and she crashed into the back of the tow truck. She was critically injured and was taken to a hospital, though she died a short time later.
It doesn’t look like the tow truck driver was hurt. This is still under investigation, so we’ll hopefully release more information later.
