Marshall County, MS — Icy roads are being blamed in an accident that left two people dead in Marshall County, Mississippi, on Thursday, December 18, 2014. The accident took place on Highway 78, around 7:30 in the morning.
Police say a car being driven by Joshua Cunningham was nearing the Red Banks Road exit when it lost control and began sliding on the ice. It crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a Ford Explorer headed in the opposite direction.
Cunningham and his passenger, Crystal McDonald, were both killed in the crash.
Eddie Brunson, the driver of the Explorer, was injured in the accident and taken to Regional One Medical Center.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash, although it’s currently being treated as a tragic accident.
