Harrison Charter Township, MI — Last Thursday, December 11, there was a serious car accident between a large Ford van and a smaller-sized Ford van. At the time, the 65-year old man in the smaller Ford van, later identified as 65-year old John McKee, was taken to a hospital along with his female passenger for treatment.
However, police later confirmed that Mr. McKee had died from his injuries on Sunday — December 14. The accident had happened along River Road, near I-94. Apparently, McKee and his passenger (a 64-year old woman from Windsor, relationship unspecified) were headed west along River Road last Thursday afternoon at about 2:45 p.m.
As they neared I-94, a man in a larger Ford van was headed east and suddenly lost control, veering across the center lines and into their path. The two vehicles collided and McKee was the most seriously injured.
The driver of the van that lost control, who wasn’t identified, may not have had the right license to drive. This is still being investigated.
