Thomson, GA — Though authorities think that alcohol might have played a role in a quadruple-fatal accident in Thomason this past Sunday (December 7, 2014), they are still awaiting the results from the GBI on the toxicology tests.
Killed in the accident were Sedrick Wright, 33, Shaquetta Barnes, 39, Marcus Thomas, 36, and Sylvester Sims, 36, after their cars collided along Augusta Highway this past Sunday afternoon. The accident happened at about 3:00 p.m., near Moose Club Road.
According to the news reports, Wright was driving a black Lexus along August Highway that afternoon with Barnes and Thomas as passengers. He was allegedly going around 100 mph when he lost control near Moose Club Road and swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting Shaquetta Barnes’ oncoming Toyota SUV.
The accident killed all four immediately and a 15-year old boy, later identified as Kamaree Spencer, was critically injured. He is Barnes’ son, the news reports said.
Right now, police think that Wright was under the influence, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
