MIAMI, TX — Brian Uriegas was killed after a single-vehicle accident that happened just outside Miami, Texas on Friday, December 5th, 2014. The article from The Amarillo Globe said that the accient happened just before 9:00 Friday night.
23-year-old Brian Uriegas was killed when the Ford F-450 he was driving and hauling a 20-foot flatbed trailer crashed on Highway 60. Authorities think that the vehicle drove off the road before it hit a nearby tree.
Uriegas was taken by EMS to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries the next day.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is handling the accident investigation.

What exactly happened in this situation? Was the pickup truck in perfect working order? Was the trailer owned, or rented by the victim? Was it in good condition? Were the tires working? Did it have brakes? These are all questions I’d be asking about this accident long before I tried to shovel the blame onto the victim. People have a hard time sympathizing with single-vehicle accidents, and it is simply because they’ve never been at the helm, or inside of a vehicle when it suffers a massive and catastrophic failure or loss of control. If that happened here, it needs to be ruled, and the only way to do that is looking at the evidence.
