San Antonio, TX — On the city’s fart west side, just south of the Leon Valley area, a woman was fatally hit by a pickup truck last month. Police said that the woman, now identified as 35-year old Monica Salgado, passed away after being taken to a hospital.
This happened on Sunday, November 24, at about 6:30 a.m. in the morning. Salgado was outside that morning trying to cross Culebra Street in the 5500 block when she was hit by a passing pickup truck.
Apparently, that area of Culebra Road isn’t very well-lit, according to the news reports, and the pickup truck driver said he didn’t see Salgado. The impact left her with life-threatenining injuries and she was immediately taken to University Hospital, where she passed away a short time later.
The SAPD said they’d investigate this some more, but did not expect to file any charges against the truck driver. His name was not given.
