According to the news reports in Corpus Christi, an 8th grade student was struck and injured by an SUV on September 27, 2012. Source said that a 13-year old boy was walking to Grant Middle School at about 8:45 a.m. when he was hit by an SUV. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and treated for nonfatal injuries.

The SUV driver was not named, but he claimed that the sun was in his eyes, preventing him from seeing the boy. Police said that the accident would be looked into further and would not release any more details about the accident until the investigation was finished.
