Commentary
It goes without saying that no one gets into a car hoping that an accident like this is going to happen. But as we’ve seen, they sometimes do, and the actions of those in the car or others out on the road need to be looked at and analyzed to try and discover how it occurred, and if it could have been avoided. Speaking from the standpoint of liability, drivers are responsible for their passengers, and have a legal obligation to provide and maintain a safe environment while they’re driving together. Sometimes, in accidents like this, a driver can be held liable for his passenger’s injuries if it’s found that accident occurred because of something he did. Details on this particular accident are still sketchy, so police will need to complete their investigation before any way forward can be charted. I would say that rushing to any sort of judgement is going to be a bad idea, as I’ve seen these sorts of accidents occur because of all sorts of things.
