NEW BERLIN, TX — Rodney Casares was killed in an accident with a car while he was riding his bike in New Berlin, Texas on Saturday, October 11th, 2014. Local news say the accident happened around 7:45 Saturday evening.
56-year-old Rodney Casares was killed when the bike he was riding was struck by a passing motorist while on FM 775 near the intersection with Blue Creek Road. Police said that the car that struck him did so from behind.
Casares died in the accident, while the driver that struck him sustained minor injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the cause of the accident, and expect to release more information soon.
