Copenhagen, NY — There was a major accident along Route 12, just outside of Copenhagen, today that injured a Carthage woman. Police said that Emily Ashline, 24, was injured and taken to a hospital via medical helicopter after her pickup truck was in a wreck with a FedEx truck.
This happened early this morning (Thursday, October 9, 2014) along Route 12. Ashline was driving her truck south along County Road 69, just west of Copenhagen, when she pulled into the intersection with Route 12.
A FedEx truck was headed east on Route 12 and crashed into Ashline’s smaller pickup truck. The accident left Ashline with non-life threatening injuries and paramedics decided to airlift her to a hospital in Watertown.
The FedEx truck driver, identified as 57-year old Frost Haviland, was also taken to a hospital for some minor injuries.
So far, it’s not clear what happened, but it appears that Ashline might have disregarded a stop sign when she pulled into the FedEx truck’s path. The accident happened a short time before 10:30 a.m. this morning.
