Stillwater, OK — A man was hit near the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater this past weekend by a taxicab. The accident happened on Saturday morning, October 4, at about 10:15 a.m. and the victim was identified as David Leslie, 62.
Leslie, also known as “Chip,” was an adjunct professor at OSU. That morning, Leslie was returning to his pickup truck after having run an errand when he was hit by a taxicab at the corner of Highway 51 and Devon Street.
Apparently, the taxi driver was driving along Devon Street and was trying to make a left turn onto Highway 51, but was blocked by traffic. As the taxi was put in reverse to look for another way, it crashed into Leslie, who was walking nearby.
The accident is still being investigated and it’s not clear whether the taxi drier is going to be charged with anything.
