Mayetta, KS — News reports have identified Trent Deleon as the man who was critically injured after crashing into a semi-trailer near Mayetta, Kansas, on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 75, near 178 Road, around 9:45 in the morning.
The reports say that the accident happened as the semi-trailer was turning onto 178. Emergency workers had to extricate Deleon from his vehicle following the accident. Medics say he was alert on the way to the hospital, although they didn’t give an exact description of his condition.
At this time, it’s unclear why Deleon crashed into the semi. Police haven’t said whether or not speeding was a factor.
