Update [October 1, 2014]: The name of the man who died in this hit-and-run was released: Carlos Vasquez, 36 years old.
Pharr, TX — Police in Pharr said that there was a fatal accident last Friday night (September 26, 2014) after a man crossing Cage Boulevard was hit by a car. This happened at about 8:00 p.m. near St. Anne Drive.
So far, the man’s name hasn’t been released yet, but it appears that he was crossing Cage Boulevard that evening when he was hit by a passing Chevrolet sedan. The accident critically injured the man and paramedics had to take him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Chevrolet apparently fled the scene and hasn’t been found yet. Police said that people can call (956) 787-8477 to offer information on the driver.
