Sulphur Rock, AR — A local woman died this past weekend after her vehicle was involved in a head-on wreck with a teen driver. Police said that Brenda Jackson, 63, was killed and five others were injured on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 27, 2014) after 16-year old Bobby Smart’s vehicle swerved into Jackson’s lane.
The Arkansas State Police listed the accident as happened right after noon, along Watson Road. They said that Brenda Jackson was driving a 2001 Ford south on Watson road, carrying Ella Baker (3), Emily Baker (7), and Rebecca Baker (37) as passengers.
At the same time, 16-year old Bobby Baker was driving a Dodge north on Watson Road with Nicholas Wood, 16, as passenger. For unknown reasons, Baker lost control of his Dodge and veered into oncoming traffic, where he drove into Jackson’s path.
There was a head-on collision and Brenda Jackson was killed while the others were injured. Paramedics were called to the scene to take people to White River Medical Center in Batesville, but it’s not clear how serious the injuries were.
